The Kansas Collegiate Media officers look forward to hosting advisers and student journalists from across the state Sunday and Monday on the Wichita State University campus for the annual KCM Conference.
Here are a few reminders as you prepare to participate in this fun and engaging event:
REMINDERS FOR STUDENTS
• Photographers, send a couple photos to Travis Heying (theying@wichitaeagle.com) by the end of the week to participate in his photo critique session on Monday.
• The copy editing contest will be a combination session led by Philip Gray and a hands-on editing exercise. Please bring a laptop if you can.
• Bring resumes and portfolios if you have them! The job and internship fair will feature several employers looking to hire, and we’ll have some experts on hand to give you feedback on your resumes and portfolios. Take advantage of this opportunity!
PARKING
Sunday will be easy. You can park in the lot just south of the Rhatigan Student Center or the lot just south of Elliott Hall. We’ll start in the RSC ballroom on the third floor. As long as you avoid the RED RESERVED spaces you will be fine.
Options for Monday: You can park in the lots mentioned above if you find spaces. If you arrive before 8, you might well beat the student crowd. If you don’t find a spot, the parking garage is right there. You’ll just have to pay to park. Grab a ticket from the kiosk in the northeast corner on your way out and to the RSC.
PROGRAM
The detailed program is provided below, and there will be printed copies for everyone when you check in.
